The line between café and bar often feels blurred here, as Josefa is a place to enjoy home comforts, yet the vibe is definitely convivial. This is somewhere for the whole city to meet, a place for Munich locals, tourists and Platzl hotel guests alike, where you can taste the quality and enjoy life to the fullest. And then there is the Josefa Karree outdoor bar, the ideal place to while away a couple of sunny hours.

Our Team
As bar manager, Nathalie Putz has been running Josefa and Josefa Karree with palpable warmth since March 2024. She began her career at Platzl Hotels in 2021 as a junior manager. She is supported by a strong team of experts in culinary delights and hospitality.
Together, they shape the character of the popular bar with passion, professionalism, and genuine enjoyment of their work.
History
For a long time, Josefa in the lobby of the Platzl Hotel was a popular fixture for guests of the Platzl Hotel. While the hotel's lobby was enlarged in fall 2024, Josefa brought the former traditional clothing store back to life. With the Josefa Karree replacing the Platzl Karree, it also gained an outdoor area.
Artisan charm in a relaxed, stylish setting
The design concept for Josefa was created by the talented interior designers at DREIMETA. Glazed tiles, pottery lamps, and dark oak wood create a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The floral facade painting symbolizes Josefa's zest for life.

Our co‑working area combines a quiet, bright atmosphere with lovingly designed details and high‑quality interior. This creates a place where focused work comes easily and creative breaks naturally belong to the flow. Flexible seating options and an inviting atmosphere create an environment that feels professional while remaining pleasantly homely. A place for everyone who wants to be productive right in the heart of the old town – modern, cozy, and welcoming.
